The ISPI focuses particularly on political, strategic and economic trends. Its work features an inter-disciplinary approach and partnerships with leading think tanks and universities from all over the world. Governance Comments 2019 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development (May 2019) Missions Structure & Activités • Business Scenarios: aims at highlighting new trends and providing innovative tools to assess risks, grasp business opportunities, and draw medium- and long-term scenarios. It also organizes annual scenario conferences on selected countries (e.g. China), bilateral forums and business meetings. • Middle East and North Africa: carries out research projects on political, economic and security issues in the region, exploring their linkages and fostering a policy-oriented dialogue about the future of the area. • Radicalization and international terrorism: focuses on the empirical analysis of violent and non-violent extremism in Europe and the world, with a particular emphasis on jihadist ideology. • Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia: carries out research and produces policy-oriented publications shedding light on the foreign policies, economic relations and domestic developments in the post-soviet space. • Infrastructure: focuses on how geopolitical and economic trends shape and are shaped by investment decisions on infrastructural projects.
