The strategic influence handbook sorts them according to both their Thales impact ranking and the GGTTI Global Go To Think Tank Index, the world reference Index in Think Tank evaluation. We score each think tank to measure its global level of impact 3 on Thales strategic Influence activities. Four criteria have been defined and a score has been attributed for each criterion, on a scale of 10. • The link to Thales purpose and strategy: "Build a future we can all trust". Does the Think tank convey the values of security, resilience, sustainable future? • The link to Thales markets: What is the link between the Think tank activities and Thales markets? • The link to Thales geopolitical presence: How is the Think tank active in the Thales geographical zones of activities? • The link to the digital world: Is the Think tank specialist of digital sectors? The scores have been attributed based on the most objective evaluation of published documents and ele- ments available on the internet. Published by the University of Pennsylvania, the 2018 Global go to Think Tank Index has also been an essen- tial source of information as it is the reference document in the world’s leading think tanks ranking. The 2018 GGTTI Nomination and Ranking were made thanks to 27 Criteria divided into 4 categories: • Resource indicators: Ability to recruit and retain leading scholars and analysts; the level, quality, and stability of financial support; proximity and access to decision-makers and other policy elites; a staff with the ability to conduct rigorous research and produce timely and incisive analysis. • Utilization indicators: Reputation as a “go-to” organization by media and policy elites in the country; quantity and quality of media appearances and citations, web hits, testimony before legislative and executive bodies; references made to research and analysis in scholarly and popular publications and attendees at conferences and seminars organized. • Output indicators: Number and quality of policy proposals and ideas generated; publications produced (books, journal articles, policy briefs, etc.); news interviews conducted; briefings, conferences, and se- minars organized. • Impact indicators: Recommendations considered or adopted by policy makers and civil society orga- nizations; advisory role to political parties, candidates; awards granted; publication in or citation of publications in academic journals, public testimony and the media that influences the policy debate and decision-making; website dominance. • Top Think Tank Worldwide • Top Think Tank Worldwide non-US • Top Think Tank in United States • Top Think Tank in Western Europe • Top Think Tank in Central and Eastern Europe • Top Think Tank Middle in East and North Africa • Top Think Tank in Mexico and Canada • Top Think Tank in Southeast Asia and Pacific • Top Think Tank in Defense and National Security • Top Think Tank in Foreign Policy and International Affairs • Top Think Tank in Science and Technology Policy What are we referring to? 1.Thales Impact Ranking 2.Global Go To Think Tank Index (GGTTI) 3 We have not based our evaluation on the organization profile, size or age nor on its executives or website attractiveness.
